Paul Marque

Paul Marque is an Étoile of the Paris Opera Ballet and an internationally acclaimed guest artist, celebrated for the purity of his classical technique, his musicality and his compelling stage presence. Blending the elegance of the French School with a deeply expressive approach to performance, he has established himself as one of the leading dancers of his generation.

Born in the southwest of France, Paul discovered dance at the age of three. His exceptional talent led him to the Paris Opera Ballet School at the age of ten, where he trained within one of the world’s most prestigious institutions before joining the Paris Opera Ballet in 2014.

His ascent through the ranks was remarkably swift. In 2016, he was promoted to Coryphée and awarded the Gold Medal at the International Ballet Competition of Varna, one of the most distinguished honours in the ballet world. The following year, he became Sujet and received the AROP Prize, recognising his outstanding artistic promise. Promoted to Premier Danseur in 2018, he was named Danseur Étoile of the Paris Opera Ballet on 30 December 2020, following his performance as the Golden Idol in Rudolf Nureyev’s La Bayadère.

Beyond his work with the Paris Opera Ballet, Paul is increasingly invited to perform as a guest principal artist with leading ballet companies and international gala productions across Europe, North America and Asia. These collaborations have allowed him to share the stage with renowned dancers and to perform before audiences around the world, enriching his artistic perspective while remaining deeply rooted in the tradition of the French School.

Known for his refined artistry, technical precision and natural elegance, Paul approaches every role with a commitment to authenticity and emotional truth. Whether interpreting the great classics or exploring contemporary works, he seeks to create performances that are both technically accomplished and profoundly human.

As his international career continues to grow, Paul Marque remains dedicated to expanding his artistic horizons through new collaborations, diverse repertoire and meaningful encounters with audiences across the world.
